Men's fashion starts again, between Pitti Uomo and Milan Fashion Week

Pitti Uomo, a rebirth in style
The two years of the pandemic have been very tiring for the world of fashion and even a historic event like Pitti Uomo has paid the price, with only virtual or small-scale events. With the summer of 2022, however, the time for complete rebirth has arrived, even if overshadowed by the aftermath of the war between Russia and Ukraine . From 14 to 17 June , in the famous venue of Fortezza da Basso , the 102nd edition of the exhibition dedicated to men's fashion was staged, capable of attracting 682 brands to Florence, of which 38% from abroad. A return to pre-Covid glories, greeted by over ten thousand visitors in four days . A success also sealed by the presence of big names of Made in Italy , such as Brunello Cucinelli. The theme chosen for this restart was the concept of the island , clogged not as a distant and detached place but as a crossroads of meetings and exchanges . The salon was divided into five sections, corresponding to as many men's models: Fantastic Classic, Futuro Maschile, Dynamic Attitude, Superstyling, and Sustainable style. The latter is a project that has been going on for five years and is expressly dedicated to the presentation of new generations of men's fashion who make sustainability their strong point.
Milan Fashion Week, a look towards the future
There wasn't even time to archive the success of Pitti Uomo and the Fashion Week for the presentation of the 2023 summer men's collections kicked off in Milan . Also in this case, a look to the future, beyond the horizon of the pandemic and war. A rich and varied calendar, with 66 events that animated the Italian city, symbol of fashion, including 25 fashion shows of major international brands . And then the usual contour of more or less famous stars and VIPs, who were photographed in the streets of the Lombardy capital, including the Turkish actor Can Yaman and the Italian sprinter Marcell Jacobs , the singer Levante and the rapper Sfera Ebbasta . On the catwalks, after such dense and heavy years, the watchword was lightness. Soft lines, simple shapes, bold but not annoying colours. However, there was no shortage of extravagant proposals and provocations, such as the men's trikini by Versace and the trashy chic proposals by Marcelo Burlon . The message is clear, we must return to looking positively at tomorrow.
